ABOUT ME
Hi!
My name is Maria and here on my page, I provide resources and information related to academic development, college & career readiness, and social-emotional learning. In 2019, I graduated with my Master’s in School Counseling from Fresno Pacific University; and in 2012, I graduated with my Bachelor’s in Human Development from UC Davis. I am a first-generation college student and I know firsthand the trials that first-generation students experience.
Since graduating, I have held different positions – paralegal, corporate health coach, community education specialist, school counselor, and now I have this space that I work on. Both in and out of the classroom experiences have enriched my life with knowledge that I have compiled to share with you.
I founded The Canny Learner with a mission to help students feel informed and confident in taking the next step in their life.
